Welcome to a brand new episode of SFP-NOW and our first with our new hosts.

For this weeks show we feature an interview with Star Trek Authority Dr. Trek AKA Larry Nemecek who chats with us about his new Podcast The Trek Files, which launched in late January on the Roddenberry Network. During our conversation we discuss the new show as well as the social commentary and politics that can be found within Star Trek and how it touches on a post scarcity economy.

Larry Nemecek has been a mainstay within Star Trek fandom for years and with a background in both theatre and journalism. His skills as both researcher, writer and presenter are second to none. Respected both as a professional by all within the industry of science fiction and fantasy journalism as well as by fans. Larry has well and truly earned the name of Dr. Trek.

For the second hour of the show I am joined by my good friend Raissa to discuss some of the television shows we have been watching and enjoying. Which includes the Librarians and Star Trek: Discovery.

<![CDATA[SFP-NOW looks at Star Trek Discovery, Lost In Space & More...]]> Wed, 28 Jun 2017 21:28:42 GMT 47:39 no

Welcome to another episode of SFP-NOW.

In this special episode Raissa and Ian take a look at some of the new science fiction and fantasy shows that will premier in the Fall.

We take a look at Star Trek Discovery and discuss our thoughts on the teaser and the premier date of the series. We conclude that we'll both likely give it a try, but will only stick with it if it has a compelling story.

We also talk about the new Netflix Lost In Space series, which we hope manages to find some middle ground between the camp of the original show and the more modern approach that shows take today.

And we also discuss the Orville, which we think might well be around for longer than the new Star Trek series.

Welcome to another exciting episode of SFP-NOW.

Avallone has been making great waves of late with readers of Dynamite Comics for his recent foray into the world of Doc Savage.

Dave chats with us about the role that pulp characters played in his childhood and how he was able to take that early exposure to pulp characters and use it to help inform his creative choices on his run of Vampirella and most recently Doc Savage.

This weeks TV discussion sees Raissa and I discussing the last couple of outings for Doctor Who as well as the new 'American Gods' series, which has recently started airing on Starz and Amazon Prime.

Listeners should be warned that we have a few spoiler conversations on American Gods. So you might want to avoid that part of the show.

Welcome to the annual SciFiPulse Radio Halloween Special with hosts Ian Cullen, T. Shawn Hardy and Linda Hardy.

Pretty much since SciFiPulse Radio began as a humble podcast back in 2008. We have always tried to celebrate Halloween with something a little different. Whether it be our Top Ten films. We always have fun talking and hope you have fun by hearing us banter too.

This year we hit on the idea of creating our own endings to classic horror and science fiction films. And as you will find out. Many of our ideas are off the wall.

Some of the movies discussed here include Halloween, Gremlins and Jaws. We also have an interesting mishmash of Star Wars and Frankenstein. But you will have to listen to find out.

<![CDATA[GenreTainment 115 - Featuring Writer Michael La Ronn]]> Wed, 01 Jun 2016 02:55:32 GMT 38:34 no

It's time for episode 115 and we are chatting with writer and YouTuber Michael La Ronn.

Michael La Ronn writes what he calls fearless science fiction & fantasy. His writing is filled with strange worlds and quirky humor featuring unusual, nontraditional heroes such as teddy bears, vegetables, and androids (but not all in the same book). Michael also writes nonfiction for authors who are stuck in the awkward phase between beginner and bestseller. He hosts the growing YouTube channel, Author Level Up, which publishes writing craft, business and marketing videos for authors every week.

Michael devoted himself to the writing life in 2012 after he was hospitalized with a dangerous sickness. We talk about that life changing moment and why he chose the indie author path. We learn all about his books (Android X, Eaten, etc), his YouTube channel, and he shares a number of excellent tips for any writer listening.

Author Level Up episodes mentioned: Ulysses, 4 Types of Confidence, and Dictation Series.

GenreTainment is where Marx & Julie talk about what is happening in the world of film, TV and web series. We give you interviews with writers, directors, producers and actors in both independent and not-so-independent creations.

Welcome to another episode of SFP-NOW here on SciFiPulse Radio.

In this episode I get to talk about one of my favorite shows with the break out star of recent seasons Briana Buckmaster who plays the recurring role of the super upbeat Sheriff Donna Hanscum who was introduced to fans in the 2014 episode 'The Purge' but has since gone on to appear in 'Hibbing 911' and the recent 'Plush' episode.

During the course of this chat Briana tells me about a few of her experiences working on the series, but also talks about a few exciting projects that she has in the works.

<![CDATA[SFP-NOW Featuring Robin Dunne]]> Wed, 25 Nov 2015 22:43:21 GMT 34:10 no

Following up on our recent Q&A at scifipulse.net Robin Dunne was kind enough to do an audio interview with us for SFP in which we got chance to talk on a number of topics.

We started by discussing how 'Sanctuary' ended and asked what would Will Zimmerman be doing now.

After this we moved on to Robins guest stint in 'Defiance' before talking about his more current film projects, which include 'A.R.C.H.I.E', which is a fun family movie about a robotic talking dog, which is voiced by none other than Michael J. Fox.

We also chatted a little more about 'Rattletrap', which is Robin's first foray into the world of writing comic books. The comic currently has a campaign on Kickstarter and looks like it could reach its goal.

The show opens up with me talking to Faran Tahir, who is one of the hardest working actors in film and television. During our chat Faran talks about his past roles in shows such as '24' and we discuss his recurring role in Warehouse 13 as well as his two new movies 'Elysium' with Matt Damon and Jodie Foster and 'Escape Plan' with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

We also manage to talk briefly about Faran's short lived role in the 2009 Star Trek movie.

The second interview is with writer Doug Stark and Producer James Hereth, who take time out of their busy schedules to discuss their proposed web series 'Shining City.' Which is a science fiction conspiracy thriller.
